Choosing humidors
5 May 2008There are very many different types and designs of humidors in the market today. Mostly they vary in shape, size and style. So when choosing the humidor for you cigars you need to consider several factors. Each genuine humidor is made up of three components which determine its type; the humidifier, the hygrometer and the humidor or the container itself.
When choosing you humidor you should make sure it is not so complex in design to surpass its function, or be too sophisticated to maintain, cigar access should be easy and be easy to place in an airy and humid place in you house. If the place is frequented by children choose the lockable types.
The humidor should also fit your personality and lime with the rest of the room décor or color. This ensures that it does not interrupt the balance in the room but act as part of it. Such things as class, your favorite color and material should be put into consideration. To keep you place tidy you should also look for the humidor that can accommodate some of you cigar accessories if not all. This eases the problem of locating them when you want to smoke your cigars.
To keep the humidity and temperature at the right level choose the humidor with the most suitable hygrometer. There are two types of hygrometers to choose from; those which contain aqua foam or water retainers that absorb the humidifier and albeit user friendly one which are electronically power and more accurate. The standard humidors come with non electrified hygrometers which can serve the purpose.
